Question/Answer

Question - Why are we having this call to prayer?

Answer - We need God’s plan, God’s purpose to be fulfilled in our lives and in our churches. The disunity in our culture and the decline in our Nazarene ministries must be abated. We must turn to God for His leading, we must seek His will in prayer together. This time of prayer will be unifying for us as a region. God says when we seek after Him with all our hearts, He will be found. (Jeremiah 29:13)

The dream with Half-Million Mobilization is that we will experience unity as a region, we will hear from the Spirit in our times of prayer, we will share with each other what the Spirit is saying, and that we will discover His plans for our hope and future.

Question – Do we physically pray in groups or on our own?

Answer – Either is fine, it is up to you. Gather with your brothers and sisters in person or online if you like. Feel free to pray on your own as well. This is self-organized.

Question – What is the “Call to Speak” part of this initiative?

Answer – This is an opportunity for everyone to share what the Spirit has said to them in prayer. There is a Prayer Response / Survey online that will collect responses from everyone that participates. The survey will be open through June, people are encouraged to respond multiple times as the Spirit leads.

Question – Will there be a prayer guide available to follow during our time of prayer?

Answer - Yes. There is a Prayer Warrior Preparation Guide on the website now with monthly updates through April. This can be shared and used throughout the initiative. In addition, you will receive a Prayer Guide via email for your day of prayer and for the April and May prayer days with your local church.

Question – What is recommended for the April day of prayer?

Answer - Allocate time in your April Board Meeting to pray with your board, staff, and ministry leaders. This is an opportunity to bring your leadership team together to pray for the Nazarene Church and your local church. Each church will receive resources via email at the beginning of March. Resources will include a short video message from Dr. Reeder, a prayer guide, and links to other helpful information.

Question – What is recommended for the May day of prayer?

Answer - Put time in your weekend services on May 1st to pray with your entire church. This is an opportunity to unify in prayer our entire denomination in USA/Canada. Each church will receive resources via email at the beginning of March. Resources will include a short video message from Dr. Reeder, a prayer guide, a sermon series, children’s ministry resources, the prayer journal, and links to other helpful information.

Question – What is the Prayer Journal and how do I get one?

Answer - The Praying Our Way to Pentecost Prayer Journal is a series of 36 daily devotionals the begins on May 1st and ends on Pentecost which is June 5th. Every pastor will get one free along with the Mar/Apr Holiness Today Prayer Edition. This will be out at the end of February. The Prayer Journal will also be available digitally on our website.

Question – Can I get additional printed copies of the Prayer Journal?

Answer - Yes. The cost will be $10.00 for a bundle of 10 copies including the Holiness Today Special Edition and the Prayer Journal. Order enough for your entire church! Here is the link to order your bundles: Order Now!

Question – Can I use the video resources in my church meetings and services?

Answer - Yes. These videos are all available for you to use as you see fit. We have tailored the content to the audience, but they are available for you to use as you like. Specific messages directed to your church leadership and congregation will be included in the email package in early March.

Question – What is the mobile app referenced above and how do I get that?

Answer - This mobile app will be available on the Apple and Google app stores. The app will include the Praying Our Way to Pentecost prayer journal with reminder notifications, notes, and other features you may enjoy. Stay tuned for the availability date coming soon.
